The Youth Homes Auxiliary Thrift Shop raises money in support of the needs of traumatized young people in the care of Youth Homes, Inc.

We sell clothing, jewelry and accessories, decorative items, small appliances, kitchen items, books, craft and sewing materials, small furniture, and linens. The shop has been managed and operated solely by volunteers in this location for over 20 years!

Open Monday 1pm-4pm, and Tuesday-Saturday 10am-4pm.
The Thrift Shop is closed on Memorial Day, July 4, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Day, and New Year’s Day. We close early the day before Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve.

Located just off Contra Costa Blvd, at the corner of Casper’s and Jack-in-the-Box.

The Youth Homes Auxiliary Thrift Shop prides itself on offering QUALITY merchandise. We welcome “like new” used clothing, household goods, jewelry, pictures, books, videos and DVDs, fashion accessories and more. Items must be clean, complete and in working order please. Donations are accepted Mon-Sat from 10am-3pm. No donations accepted after 3pm.

We CANNOT accept:
appliances (larger than counter size), batteries, cameras, ceiling fans, electronics (stereos , TVs, telephones, cell phones, etc), furniture, reference books, hanging lamps, medical equipment, personal hygiene items, rugs larger than 2’X3′, sports equipment, suitcases without wheels, tires/snow chains, toys, used Christmas trees and lights.

Work as many days a month as you wish. We offer a morning shift from 10am-1pm or an afternoon shift from 1pm-4pm.
We are always looking for cashiers, back room workers, and front room attendants, with training offered by experienced volunteers. Can’t commit to working regularly at the shop? There are ways you can still help:
• Doing online research for used book values, dolls, jewelry, etc.
• Place some of our more valuable items on Craig’s List and/or eBay
• Making minor clothing repairs
• Washing swimsuits March-September
